the good

the bad the summary
map1: the name is about as bland as the level. however, this one is actually pretty decent and shows a lot of promise. while the map doesn't try to do too much beyond the basics, what it does do, it does well. it's a smallish level with the typical square rooms and halls that you'd expect from a beginner. enemies teleport in (although once again here's a map with teleporting z-sec, where only true demons should be able to teleport - not the undead humans!) and attack you as you move through the halls looking for keycards, ammo and weapons. the action is fairly well paced, and the map begins to get fairly challenging towards the end, but just as it seemed to be progressing a bit it ended with a series of ridiculously brutal fights. think 3 hellknights at once, then 2 mancubi at once, etc, and all this is a medium sized square room. one complaint i have with this level is: the doors don't open until your face is smashed up against them. this was very unusual, and very annoying.

while this map is fairly simple stuff, it does show a lot of promise. the level is solid, realistic looking, and subtle. if greywolf can expand his vision a bit, learn to use PDAs, add in more ambient sound and detailed architecture, i believe he could make a level that would rate much better than this one.
