MINUSES SUMMARY
Sniper Alley - to be fair - was intended as a DM map, but the author converted it to SP play as well. Despite this, the map does manage to provide some good gameplay. Great Strogg placements and low weapons and ammo (at first at least) make for fantastic action and a high challenge. Its DM nature shines through in the layout as well, which keeps the player in near constant motion. The map is fast paced, and a lot of fun. Its problems are many though: a disjointed feel is noticeable through most of the game, with each area being a serperate entity and not relating to the others, it is possible to bypass most of the map, yet still be able to exit - so keep an eye on the kill count if you want to make sure and explore the whole level. Nearly every weapon available is provided to the player, yet they really aren't needed, and the level loses the excellent challenge it begins with as it progresses. The biggest problem is the lack of any sort of end game fight. With the huge arenas provided and all the weaponry, I was ready to tackle one (or more!!) of those big flying bug creatures, or a few Super Tanks, or... or... or, something! The bottom line is (begin fanfare): this is a DM map, converted to SP, however, the author does manage to make a decent little game here. Several problems, but a lot of fun too - worth the download, but not a must play by any means.
