MINUSES SUMMARY
Struck a Nerve, a heart pounding action romp that I really enjoyed playing. Plenty of great action sequences occur in and around a mysterious structure, which will challenge you well, and keep you on your guard. Aliens were very well placed, and action flows alomg very nicely, with the fights occuring with just the right amount of time between them. Health, weapon and ammo placement compliment the action quite nicely, and keep a smooth gameplay experience throughout. Item placement is also nicely implemented, with items in out of the way places, where a bit of searching is involved. A couple of cool secret areas also hide out in the map. From the weaponless start, to the really fun end-fight, the map flows smoothly. On the down side, the level has absolutely no story at all. This took away a bit of the Unreal immersiveness that I enjoy. Also, a lot of the architecture was very square and blocky. More curves and detail work would have added a great deal to the visual appeal of the map. Finally, there is a combo stairway/walkway that is hanging in the air virtually unsupported, and it looks a bit odd, causing a double-take the hampers the flow. All told, it's an extremely fun level, that I played through 4 times, and had fun each play. Highly recommended for action fans.
